The only notably good flight characteristic of the BV 238 is the low stall speed, allowing it to glide long distances at low speeds as well as allowing the plane to enjoy incredibly slow and smooth landings. While using combat flaps, the bomber's turn rate does increase significantly, but it will still not be able to out-manoeuvre any plane it finds itself near. With slow acceleration, poor climb rate, agonisingly slow roll rate, a low top speed, and a pitiful turn rate, the BV 238 will not find itself able to out-perform anything it faces. The BV 238, as expected of an aircraft of its size and class, is a very sluggish plane. It was introduced in Update 1.63 "Desert Hunters". With a battle rating of 3.7 (AB/RB) and 4.0 (SB). With autocannons, on the other hand, the wings will be the weakest link as causing a wing to snap will send the leviathan crashing down to the earth. This aircraft is difficult to bring down with purely machine gun fire as they will need to be concentrated on the pilots or the engines and will typically take several passes to inflict much damage. Approach from the rear of the aircraft is almost impossible to do without being hit by the defensive fire, the best bet is a high-speed diving approach from the front or a high-speed approach from below. The dorsal turret consists of a dual MG 151 20 mm autocannons whereas all other turrets are quad MG 131 machine gun setups. With gunner positions in the nose, dorsal turret, tail and one rear-facing turret mid-wing on each wing, approach towards this aircraft is a very dangerous manoeuvre. My friend researched the whole German tree with the TA 154.Though a slow-moving and even slower manoeuvring whale of a plane, the is not to be considered a "sitting duck" just waiting to be picked off. Plus it's Tier 3 which will carry your research to jets. Because it still flies straight and guns still work perfectly.įor the money I would recommend a TA 154, its really OP right now with the canon buffs and its got lots of cannon, and didn't get a BR raise despite the huge damange buff. The plane the most likely to get air kills after it is dead. Weirdly everything this patch gets its tail shot off really easy.īut there is a bug that the BV keeps on flying pretty straight with no tail. Originally posted by John Squid Con:Total piece of crap, premium plane that costs 10k for repairs, I don't know how to profit on it when you get shot by fighters after like 2 mins in realistic battles at 5000m in half way, it has terrible tail and wings health and useless ai turrets, which after maxed see targets from like 10m, only one advantage is that it can carry 20x250kg bombs, I had only a little of unique situations where I delivered all bombs to targets, most of people camp up here waiting for some free money, so I regret buying it.īut it's still annoying as an allied pilot because a couple BVs can win the match in minutes. It is also a little bit unestable when u shot him at only one wing, thats one of the weakest part of this bomber. In the other hand, they have 6 engines so if they lose any of them, it wont go down like other bombers. Yeah thats true but there are a few pilots who think in that and they just attack from behind or the top. Bv-238's have no defensive turret under which makes me an fw-190 pilot just strafe below him and strike one or two of his engines and them being a slow target makes them the best thing to aim at. nahh seriously, u should buy cuz in my opinion, thats the only low-mid BR bomber that doesn't need any cover or support. Thats why i would really recommend it if u like to fly bombers whithout doubt but if try to fly that plane and i see u in SB, i wont have any problem to take u down whith my american, soviets or british planes hahaha. I dont have that plane, i can say i hate them but they are very good against any planes, they have defensive turrets everywhere, and it can win a game without any help.
